What attracted you to Euler Hermes?

I joined Euler Hermes after 4 years in an Allianz SE strategic group role. Looking back at my career, the most interesting and enjoyable times I had was when I worked for a business unit with a portfolio to manage, brokers, customers to meet, deadlines and targets to sweat over. The whole nine yards of running a business with a focus on customer centricity. Euler Hermes presented such an opportunity for me and it is also a specialized line of business within the Allianz group that I would like to experience

What skills and experiences do you draw on in your role?

My more than 25 years of work experience in the insurance industry and with Allianz put me in a very good position to drive and steer the business in my present role as CEO South East Asia (ASEAN) for Euler Hermes. The diversity-related skill sets I picked up living and working for more than 10 years in Canada, US and Europe also created the open minded and open leadership style that I practice with my teams. Three key attributes which I learned and apply now in my job : 1) ability to cut through complexity 2) working with and managing culturally diverse workforce ( we have now ca. 18 different nationalities working at the Singapore office) 3) the importance of collaboration to build strong business proposition

What do you enjoy most about working with Euler Hermes?

The young, energetic team and the potential for significant business growth in Asia makes a very interesting and dynamic combo. Every day presents a new challenge as the world and markets change around us. We constantly have to manage change and maintain agility in order not to be left behind.

Describe Euler Hermes in 3 words

Closer, Easier, Better …….this may be true for the more established and mature markets of Euler Hermes but we are not there yet in South East Asia, a young and growing market. We aspire to be “Closer, Easier, Better” efforts are made and resources deployed to improve the customer journey @ Euler Hermes. This is important and needs to be taken seriously by all

What are your development and career perspectives within Euler Hermes?

I was able to transition from Euler Hermes Group function to APAC region because our Board of Management believe in the benefits of local managers leading local operations. This gives local teams good career goals, aspirations to excel and lead their respective business units. Euler Hermes provides equal opportunities for international career moves to fully leverage the benefits diversity and mobility of its human resources brings to its business. I hope that this will encourage and motivate my coworkers at Euler Hermes to put in their best efforts, trust and grow with our company globally​​​​​​​​​​​​

If you have worked in different countries, tell us about that experience.

I was based in Singapore, Paris, London, Canada/Chicago and Munich for Allianz/Euler Hermes. Each country is different in culture, mindset, business cycle, target markets…but one thing remains the same… every country our employees/ coworkers exhibit loyalty to our company, willingness to engage and willingness to create success for the company . This is great motivation for me to continue to give off my personal best to Euler Hermes and to help my teams, colleagues and company succeed .
