​One of the most common and entrenched beliefs about French workers is that they are more productive than their German peers.While this may still be the case, after correcting for underemployment, in 2016 France outperformed Germany’s productivity by a mere 1.4%. This is a far cry from the pre-corrected figure of 5%.
