The International Debt Collections process
Once your international debt is passed to us for collection, it is entered on our extensive information database. Your dedicated collector will acknowledge receipt of the debt in writing, providing you with a unique case number for all future contact. A letter is then sent (or faxed when possible) advising the debtor of our involvement and requesting payment of the overdue account.
If payment is not forthcoming following the letter, your international telephone collector will attempt to contact the debtor to secure payment. We will report to you all relevant details. Then, if necessary, your account will be forwarded to the local Euler Hermes company or agent to pursue the account on your behalf.
Should legal action become necessary we can provide lawyers who specialise in the trading laws of an individual country as well as international legal obligations. They will discuss your case with you, in particular the cost and time implications of taking legal action in the country where your debt is located.
